Presentation:
This
month we welcome Caren Levine, Founder and Principle
Consultant of Etheoreal, a consulting agency specializing in educational
media and technology.
Corporations, organizations,
and individuals are increasingly turning to e-learning for as a resource
for professional development. We will examine different models of online
learning, with an emphasis on professional development and communities
of practice. We will also look at design considerations that support
successful learning experiences. Online tools such as wikis, blogs,
e-learning platforms, and virtual environments such as Second Life will
be explored.
Caren N.
Levine is the founder and principal consultant of Etheoreal, a consulting
agency specializing in educational media and technology. In addition
to developing a series of online resources for educators and exploring
uses of open source software for learning, Caren is also active in the
Second Life educational community. She has taught graduate level courses
and professional development workshops in the field of educational technology
in face-to-face and online settings. Caren blogs about education and
technology, and has written a dissertation case study of online learning
for professional development. Caren holds an ASTD E-Learning Instructional

to SetFocus, Parsippany, NJ:
From
Route 287: Take Exit for Route 10 West (towards Dover). Go
through one light. Immediately after light get into right lane. Take
Dryden Way off of Rt. 10. Go to the end of Dryden Way. Make left onto
Sylvan Way. Make Right onto Century Drive (notice sign saying 2 Sylvan
Way). We are the 2nd building on the left (4 Century Drive.). Park in
the front lot. Go up the stairs into the building. SetFocus is the first
office on the right.
From Route 80: Take the exit for 287 South. Take Exit
for Route 10 West (towards Dover). Go through one light. Immediately
after light get into right lane. Take Dryden Way off of Rt. 10. Go to
the end of Dryden Way. Make left onto Sylvan Way. Make Right onto Century
Drive (notice sign saying 2 Sylvan Way). We are the 2nd building on
the left (4 Century Drive). Park in the front lot. Go up the stairs
into the building. SetFocus is the first office on the right.
From the Garden State Parkway: Exit at Route 78 West.
Take 78 West until it connects with Route 24 West. Take Route 24 West
to 287 North. Take 287 North to Exit for Route 10 West (towards Dover).
Go through one light. Immediately after light get into right lane. Take
Dryden Way off of Rt. 10. Go to the end of Dryden Way. Make left onto
Sylvan Way. Make Right onto Century Drive (notice sign saying 2 Sylvan

Note:
You may also park in the side lot to use handicapped entrance on the
left side of building. Enter the building, go down the hall by the elevators
and make a right SetFocus is the last office on the left.
