8:00pm – Presentation – "CEO of ME, Inc."

Where: Holiday Inn – Totowa/Wayne

Presentation:
This month NNJ-AWC is hosting a joint meeting with MIS Network Associates (MNA), at Holiday Inn in Totowa, NJ. We will begin the evening with Speed Networking so you can practice your elevator speeches and make contacts. Be sure to bring several copies of your resume. After dinner, ETP Network Founder and CEO Rod Colón will show you how to take control over your career by running a business called ME, Inc.

ME, Inc. is not something you read but a process you follow. Rod's coaching program changes professionals from an employee/consulting mindset (building "Someone Else’s, Inc.") to being the CEO of ME, Inc. To run, you, as a business, need a certain degree of discipline and mental toughness.

The ME, Inc. philosophy helps professionals in the following areas:

  • Taking a Look at YOU – The Product and Service
  • Recognize if the Current Market Supports Your Product and Service
  • Understand your potential clients – from a CEO’s perspective
  • Prepare for a changing workplace
  • Engineer an Efficient Client Search (Job Search)
  • Prepare Winning Proposals (Resumes)
  • Prepare and Sell Me, Inc. (Interview)
  • Develop a Disaster Recovery Plan – (Plan B)
  • Develop an Excellent Research and Development Team (Networking)
  • Develop a Powerful Channel Partner Program – Alternate Sources of Income

Attributes that Rod looks for in a student interested in being the "CEO of ME, Inc.":

  • Desire and need to change their current career management process
  • Coachable and Teachable
  • Positive attitude
  • Accepting responsibility for their present situation (not blaming others)
  • A desire to be the CEO of their own business – ME, INC.

ETP Network Founder and CEO Rod Colón has a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed in today's global economy. Rod shares his 24 years of experience as a corporate HR management "insider", outside agency recruiter, professional networker, and career coach through a unique, "Common Sense" approach to networking and career management. His in depth knowledge of international staffing, recruiting and networking gives Rod a unique ability to coach and consult today's professionals and executives around the world.

Rod uses his passion, energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to support others. Rod coaches professionals in the art of "leveraging relationships" that maximizes personal networking opportunities. Rod has also taken this hands-on approach to corporations that recognize that the leveraging of internal and external networks is critica l and essential to an organization's bottom line success. Visit Rod's website at: http://etpnetwork.com.

November 13 , 2007: "Marketing on the Web"
Speaker: Paula Payne, Owner of Your Web Stage

Location: Spanish Tavern (Mountainside, NJ)

Marketing on the Web

How can individuals and small businesses best take advantage of the Internet? We'll talk about the top web strategies and online promotions for your business. We will briefly demonstrate how individuals and small businesses can successfully harness the Internet. You'll gain knowledge for cutting through the clutter with practical, high-impact promotional solutions — such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC), linking campaigns, email marketing, and blogging.

Ideally this research and planning is done prior to launching a web site. However, if you already have a web site that is not performing well, you will be provided with fresh concepts for online success.

Speaker Biography: Paula Payne

Paula Payne has over 10 years experience in designing and developing websites. This includes intranet sites for large corporations as well as internet sites for small businesses, CompuServe Forums and individuals.

Early 1997, Paula was given the task to develop a website for her workgroup in AT&T and the rest is history. Since then, she has pursued her web interests in all the work she has done. In addition to developing websites, Paula has created web-based help systems and web-based tutorials/training.

When Paula left AT&T, she began developing web sites for friends and acquaintances. In 2005, she formed her own business and Your Web Stage was born.

In her spare time, Paula studies tap and ballroom dancing. She especially likes to perform and audiences have enjoyed her in ballroom student showcases as well as tap recitals.
